My name is Melissa Calderon, and I grew up in the small village of Independence, located in the southern part of Belize. I grew up with my grandma, my mom, and two siblings. My grandma, Petronila Muschamp, was my superhero. While there were not many business opportunities in Independence, I still had a plan and a dream in my heart.
When I turned 18, I moved to San Pedro Town to pursue my dream of becoming a successful businesswoman and providing a better life for my family. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. My first job was as a cashier at a boutique, making BZD 5 per hour with an Associate’s degree, but hey, anything to get by. During this time, my aunt and I constantly checked the newspaper for job openings.
In 2016, I found one as an office assistant, and that was the beginning of my career. I was motivated and driven to accomplish my goals. I had my grandma’s strength and will to never give up, which I called the ‘Lion’s Attitude’. This is why there is a small painting of a lion in the unit.
The past couple of years have been challenging. I am very grateful to everyone who supported me. I appreciate their kindness. I am very big on helping and being kind to others because God’s favor has always helped me through it all.
A few years ago, I met my leo, Normandi. He has played a crucial role in this investment and is everything my grandma would have approved of. Today, I am proud to announce that I am the owner of a loft condo at Sunset Caribe. Normandi and I are delighted to host you and be a part of your Belize vacation.
Cheers,
Melissa!
